PART ONE – Science and Theory

Our 5-week, 10-hour Webinar Series is open to registered yoga instructors who wish to learn the science and theory behind Sensory-Enhanced Yoga® and how it may help those who have high anxiety or have experienced trauma to better self-regulate their own nervous systems and energy levels to better meet life’s challenges. (Certified yoga therapists and health professionals will also be able to use the material presented in this course to address core issues of PTSD and promote healing from the condition.) The information can be applied both “on and off the mat” and presents an evidence-based roadmap for healing these conditions.  Please note:  The webinar series includes several experiential activities but is mostly lecture and discussion. It provides a solid scientific and theoretical grounding for the chair and mat practices that are presented in Part 2.  This is what we will cover:

Purchase of the book, Sensory-Enhanced Yoga for Self-Regulation & Trauma Healing, by Lynn Stoller, is required and can be ordered through our website for continental US residents at 10% off retail and free shipping. For other countries, including Canada, please order from Amazon.

PART TWO – The Practice

Our 15-hour Part 2 Webinar Series for registered yoga instructors presents the practice of Sensory-Enhanced Yoga®, including the yoga forms and movements (both mat and chair versions), specialized breathing practices, how to effectively sequence the practice, the purpose and use of counterforms, yoga form modifications, and how to teach a group of individuals with mixed mobility levels. The chair version of the program can easily be implemented in a small clinical office setting and is also appropriate for individuals with limited mobility. The sessions include demonstration, practice, partner work, and discussion. The series culminates in a large group experiential lab. Required Pre-Requisite: Sensory-Enhanced Yoga® for Self-Regulation, Part 1-The Science and Theory- see note below*.  This is what we will cover (there are minor timing adjustments for the weekend format):

Attendance (via Zoom) is mandatory at all live sessions of Part 2 in order to receive a certificate of completion, due to the experiential nature of the course.  Portions of sessions may be recorded for internal quality control purposes; however, these recordings will not be made available to participants.

If a Part 2 session is missed, you must attend that session and the last 2 sessions at a future series to receive your certificate, as you need all the skills before you can participate in the planning and presentation of the final group lab. Participants must actively participate in all experiential aspects of the course, with their videos on, so faculty can vouch that they are fully trained and qualified to implement the program.

Purchase of the book, Sensory-Enhanced Yoga for Self-Regulation & Trauma Healing, by Lynn Stoller, is required and can be ordered directly from our website (at 10% off and free shipping) for continental US residents. For other countries, including Canada, please order from Amazon.
